 KALEIDOSCOPE DISBANDS ANNUAL FESTIVAL

FEBRUARY 2012--After much discussion and many options explored, it is with bittersweet confidence that the board announces its decision to discontinue the Kaleidoscope festival, effective immediately. New challenges and opportunities now available on the web for event holders have brought the board to this conclusion, along with the belief that it is the best one for the future. Kaleidoscope has had a very fruitful 36 years of promoting area events, and the board is grateful for all the relationships and chances to promote Central Virginia along the way.

To further empower Kaleidoscope’s event holders to better market themselves going forward, the board held a marketing presentation on February 1, that included insights on how to best use social media to promote events, free opportunities to do so in the area, how to write a press release, tips on getting the media to cover an event, as well as a Q & A session with the marketing/media professionals on the Kaleidoscope board.
